What we are
Eyalingo Publishing is a wing of EyaLingo initiated in late 2023. It is a community-driven publishing space created to support meaningful African stories, knowledge, and research. We started with the idea of publishing the EyaLingo Dictionaries but foun the need to engage more inn the dyling reading tradition in Africa.
We work closely with authors, not above them, and see publishing as a shared journey rather than a transaction. Our focus is on books that carry cultural value, lived experience, and thoughtful creativity.
Our Mission
Our mission is to help authors bring their best work into the world without losing their voice. We exist to nurture ideas, protect creative integrity, and make publishing accessible, collaborative, and respectful. Through peer support, careful editing, and thoughtful design, we ensure each book speaks clearly, honestly, and with purpose.
What We Do
We publish works that document, question, preserve, and imagine. This includes cultural and social research, dictionaries and language resources, creative writing, poetry, essays, children’s books, and community-rooted narratives. We are especially drawn to projects that reflect African realities, traditions, and evolving identities.
Our 6 Step Publishing Process

Presentation
Every project begins with presentation and listening. We take time to understand the author, the story, and why the work matters or their direction. We engage into conversations around the author’s goal before even looking at the work-arounds.

Shared Reading & Honest Feedback
A small circle of peer writers assigned to the writer (always 3, but can be flexible) read the work with care. Feedback is thoughtful, respectful, and aimed at helping the author see the work more clearly, not changing who they are

Writing, Editing, Side by Side
Editing is collaborative. So, the authors work is hosted on our editing platform and the peer-authors propose suggestions together with the author. We work closely with the author to refine structure, clarity, and flow, while protecting the voice, tone, and cultural truth of the work.

Shaping the Book’s Identity
Design is where the book finds its physical and visual presence. Covers, layout, and style are developed with the author involved at every step. A designer is assigned in a situation where the author requires one to conclude their masterpiece’s presentation.

Bringing the book to life
We handle publishing (with details like ISBN and licensing) and preparation for print and digital release, making sure the book is properly documented, accessible, and ready for readers.

Walking With the Author After Release
Publishing doesn’t end at release. We support authors with publicity, creative materials, and visibility, helping their work travel and find its audience. Our authors are prioritized in our reading sessions, conferences and writers’ camp sessions.

Publishing with Eyalingo Publishing means you’re not walking the journey alone. We believe great books are shaped through trust, collaboration, and respect for the author’s voice.
We protect the author’s voice at every stage. Editing and decisions are made to strengthen the work, not reshape it into something it is not.
We believe money should not be a barrier to good work. Our peer-supported model means authors are not required to pay to publish. Editing, guidance, and creative support are shared within the community, keeping costs low while maintaining quality.
After it all, the author still maintains full clean rights and ownership to their work

We design books to feel intentional and alive. Covers, layout, and visuals are developed to match the spirit and audience of the work.
We help books reach readers through launch support, creative promotional materials, and inclusion in our library and platforms.
